realizing success in the material expecting world

we are living in a world where success is
predetermined by social expectations. even before we come
out of our mothers wombs, getting an education and then
having a lucrative job in the future is the standard goal that
human cultures expects for us to attain. while we needs, wants,
and other things are being mixed_up that we fail to recognize
one thing from the other, we are then obliged to go with
the flow and focus on the material aspect of success.

a kid who should have been a talendted painter or a good
public school teacher would most likely prefer to have a
career he/she is not so good at if it would take him overseas.
this implies that in the real world, success is measured by
how much we gain materially in this life, not how much
we gain of ourselves. success would be far from your
reach unless you take the shape of the mold, ang get there
first base, is to have education.

do we really go to college to exercise our mental
capabilities? to learn how to preserve? partly, but in a
world ran by MONEY, the main reason is for us to have a
DEGREE & GET A JOB IN THE FUTURE not only to meet our NEEDS
AND WANTS, but also TO FULFILL THE PURPOSE SET US BY THE SOCIETY.
these overlapping factors,if not serving as challenging
stimuli the youth, could only add up to the PRESSURES at their VULNERABLE AGE.

from the moment the toddler starts to speak, the childs
mind would be fed with ABC'S. anf then, he/she would be
sent to school and study for GOD-KNOWS-HOW-LONG years.
years spent, preparing to make money as soon as and as much
as possible. STUDY & WORK. that two are STAGES OF
A HUMAN LIFE-CYCLE in a material world. it seems like we are
BORN TO BE MONEY-MAKING MACHINES.

in school, the students get to choose what they want
themselves to be, its either of the two, they can nourish
their minds with things that could back them up in the future
or be dropped-out losers who could lay down on their
couches all their lives. such a neat arrangement. but
unfortunately, the supposedly impartial criteria of education
is sometimes handled by unqualified ang unjust people who
meet pressured students who would do anything to get
passing grades BY HOOK OR BY CROOK. many times, the
material concept of success have only summoned greed and
dishonesty in some people. we become so preoccupied to
reach the "TOP" that we tend to leave our characters lying
on the ground. wheres success in being a LICENSED PROFESSIONAL
when you only became one because you have
CHEATED the qualifying BOARD EXAMS?
when you credibility sucks because
you failed to know the other things that
could educate aside from passing algebra and history?

material success and social expectations could pressure us to go with the flow, and through all these, we get confused that we sometimes
follow the trend of doing filthy things for our
own material gain. we lose people who "MADE IT BIG"
having graduated and making a lot of MONEY,
regardless of how they have ATTAINED it.

amidst this dilemma, we should deal with
anything that pressures us with more open
minds. use these thing strengthen our characters
by brushng aside the wordly matters
that they wave under our noses.
learn many things as much as possible and finish anything
out of our own PERSEVERANCE. make a lot
of money, sure. but we must
always , bear in our minds that having
more than what we actually need is
tagged with responsibility to look after
those who are in need. that
would make us grow. that is SUCCESS. other people's
definition of it should not determine who
we are who must define and ACHIEVE our own
SWEET SUCCESS. not FOOL'S GOLD
but THE REAL THING :)
